Founded more than 30 years ago in the sleepy green hills of East Devon, you’ll find us just outside Axminster, near the historic and medieval Shute estate.
In this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just a stone’s throw away from the Jurassic coast, we’ve been quietly conserving the best of English wine and mead-making tradition.
In fact, committed as we’ve been over the last three decades, we’ve established quite a name for ourselves – we’re now the largest mead and fruit wine maker in the UK, and the most awarded English still wine producer*.

We’re able to produce such award-winning wines thanks to our network of growers from across the south of England, allowing us to buy the best grapes, from the best vineyards to make the best wine.

Mead – often referred to as Honey Wine – is a story written over the centuries. Its increasing popularity showcases its outstanding versatility: from sip and savour to a unique cocktail ingredient. Our range encompasses the traditional, fruit and floral flavoured meads and offers a perfect alternative for those seeking a new experience or a more interesting option for a long alcoholic cooler.
Leading maker of Country Fruit Wines
Preserving England’s long history of country wines, our diverse range of fruit, botanical and floral wines epitomises the countryside. These wines are ideal for trying new flavours or pairing with a meal and lend themselves well to any occasion. Delightful on their own as a rich splash of seasonal flavour, they also work well as a spritzer or cocktail component.
The final ingredient - Liqueurs and Spirits
To complement our wines and meads, a range of fruit liqueurs, gins and rums complete our offering. A delight on their own, or a valuable addition to a long drink or cocktail, these spirit-based drinks encapsulate the key characteristics of our range and make a perfect pairing every time.
