Christmas gift guide from Lyme Bay Winery

It’s December so there’s no escaping it: Christmas is coming. If you are looking for that perfect Christmas present our award-winning drinks are sure to delight the recipient and bring some much needed cheer to the end of this challenging year.

For feasters and foodies

Whether you are a meticulous planner or a last-minute rusher, when it comes to Christmas lunch it really takes the pressure off if you know you’ve got something to drink that’s going to be a hit with everyone – and our Brut Reserve (NV) is just the ticket.

This fruit driven sparkling white wine is made using the Traditional Method to create a light and refreshing fizz bursting with aromas of lemon, green apples and freshly cut grass. The perfect Christmas drink for sharing with friends and family over Christmas lunch, or send a bottle or two to loved ones you won’t be seeing on the day.

Our new half bottle is similarly quaffable and makes the perfect gift to say “thank you” or “congratulations”, as well as a cute and quirky way to give your guests just enough of a pre-prandial tipple or a mid-dinner toast.

Also new this year is our Brut Reserve Bottle and Sea Salt Caramel Truffle Gift Box, for those who deserve something extra special. A stylish wooden presentation case holds a bottle of our Brut Reserve along with a box of six milk chocolate shells with salted caramel centres, made with Anglesey sea salt and dusted with cocoa powder.

For the hardy hearted

We all know plenty of folk who, for whatever reason, have battled their way through this year. For those brave souls we recommend a warming and cheering bottle of our Jack Ratt Lugger Rum.

Named after notorious 18th century local smuggler Jack Rattenbury, who smuggled contraband into Lyme Bay using fishing boats called ‘Luggers’, we make our award-winning Lugger rum by ageing Caribbean rum in bourbon-charred oak barrels right here in Devon before spicing it with nutmeg, orange-peel, cloves and vanilla to create a superlative spiced tot.

Our beautiful full-sized bottles make a stylish addition to any drinks cabinet , while our 5cl mini version is the perfect size to pop into a home-made cracker or Christmas stocking, or tie up with festive ribbons for a twist on a traditional tree decoration.

For the traditionalists

Christmas is a time for history and traditions and, as one of the oldest alcoholic drinks known to man, mead ticks both these boxes as well as being an interesting gift choice for those hard-to-buy-for people in your life.

Our fabulously festive Christmas Mead blends our finest mead with seasonal spices to make the perfectly smooth and mellow Yuletide tipple.

If you want to spread the honey love, our Miniature Mead Gift Box is perfect for the already mead mad as well as those new to the joys of mead, and contains miniature versions of our five best selling Meads: Rhubarb, Tournament (ginger), Black Cherry, Traditional and Chilli.

You could always double down on the Christmas cheer by sending someone our Mulled Wine & Christmas Mead Gift Box – a bottle each of these spiced delights that are sure to see off the coldest winter chill.

Something for everyone

For those whose tastes you don’t know so well, or if you simply want to be sure that what you send will fit safely through a letter box with minimal fuss, our gift cards are the perfect Christmas treat for the discerning drinker.
