Drink to the World Cup with Lugger Rum Cocktails

    Cocktail Recipes 28th June 2018
    Lugger Rum on barrel

While not everybody is a football fan, we’ve yet to meet someone who doesn’t like a cocktail. With that in mind, we put our thinking caps on to come up with some World Cup-themed cocktails that will help you celebrate your team’s victories, or take the edge off a drubbing.

But which of our delicious, award-winning spirits to choose for the task? Named after the fishing boats that Jack Rattenbury – a notorious local smuggler – have used to smuggle contraband into Lyme Bay in the 18th Century, and made from aged Caribbean rum in bourbon-charred oak barrels right here in Devon, our Lugger Rum was the winning choice.

Unlike most commercial spiced rums, our Lugger Rum is not defined by an overpowering vanilla characteristic. Instead, our aim was to create a rum that offers a full profile of nutmeg, orange-peel and cloves, as well as vanilla, making it the perfect, versatile cocktail base.

Lugger Rum World Cup continental cocktail list 2018

Because the qualifying tournaments for the World Cup are held within the six FIFA continental zones, we’ve created six Lugger Rum cocktails to sup that match the continental homeland of your chosen team (or the one you picked in the office sweepstake).
