Once the embers of Bonfire night have died down we start to get into the Christmas spirit here at Lyme Bay Winery, and what better way to get ahead of your seasonal preparations than with a spot of late-night shopping – and mulled wine tasting! – at our Cellar Door.

In the run-up to Christmas, we are extending our Cellar Door opening hours on Thursdays 10, 24 November, and 8 December until 7 pm, where our friendly and knowledgeable staff will be on hand to help you get all your Christmas drinks preparations well in hand.
Christmas Drinks
As well as our award-winning English Wines and a sensational selection of spirits, Lyme Bay has also gained a flurry of fans for our tempting festive tipples, which are the ideal accompaniment for Yuletide merrymaking.
For starters, Christmas isn’t Christmas without a pudding, so we’ve embodied the character of that rich, fruity classic in our delicious warming, Christmas Pudding Wine.
Then there’s our Christmas Mead which, as you might expect, is made from the finest mead gently blended with Christmas spices for a perfectly smooth and mellow Christmas tipple.
For a double whammy of festive necessities, our Mulled Wine & Christmas Mead Gift Box supplies a duo of spiced delights to beat the chill.
Another fast favourite is our Lyme Bay Winter Gin. This winter warmer is grounded in rich, earthy tones layering black pepper and nutmeg over notes of elderberries, blackberries, and a hint of burnt orange. The warm, lingering finish is reminiscent of long evenings in front of the fire – the place where our Winter Gin is best enjoyed.

Our Lyme Bay Winery Cellar Door here in Shute, near Axminster, is an established Devon stop-off whether you’re looking for your everyday favourites or something special for Christmas, so do stop by for a spot of late-night shopping and a glass of mulled wine on 10 and 24 November and 8 December.
We’re also proudly taking part in ‘Axminster Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Big Deal for Axminster‘ initiative – with the aim of encouraging our local community to support independent traders in the run to Christmas – and are offering customers at our Cellar Door 30% off a case of six bottles of our popular Shoreline Rosé.
Small Business Saturday UK
According to the Chamber of Commerce if every adult spent £5 a week in Axminster that they would otherwise have spent elsewhere (or online) the value to the local economy would be £1.8 million each year.
Even if you don’t live – or shop – in our beautiful part of the Jurassic Coast you can still make a difference to small businesses in your area by ‘shopping local’ on Small Business Saturday, which takes place on the first Saturday in December each year and this year falls on Saturday 3 December.
Order drinks online for Christmas
Our award-winning range of festive drinks means you are sure to find something for everyone on your Christmas present list, and our wonderful Cellar Door is open Monday to Saturday from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm, and on Sunday from 11 am until 3 pm, as well as the extended hours mentioned above.

We aim to despatch all orders made before 2 pm on the next working day – with free delivery for all orders over £55, and a 5% discount on orders over £150.
