    Our Cellar Door shop is open every day and showcases our wide range of award-winning English still and sparkling wines, spirits, fruit wines, ciders, meads, and liqueurs. There is always a selection of English wines and other award-winning products available to taste – just ask our helpful staff. Opening Hours Winter 2024 - Monday to Saturday 9:00 - 16:30 (Closed for lunch 12:30 - 13:15) Sunday 11:00 - 15:00.

    Guided Tasting Experiences

    We offer two Guided Tastings Experience options at the Cellar Door:

    SILVER: English Wine & Mead – 2 Whites, 1 Rosé, 1 Red, 1 Sparkling, 1 Mead

    GOLD: English Wine, Mead & Spirits – 3 Whites, 1 Rosé, 1 Red, 2 Sparklings, 1 Mead, Rum or Gin plus accompanying nibbles!

    Guided Tastings typically last between 1 – 2 hours, depending on which package you choose.

    We will talk you through each wine, how to taste, where the grapes are grown, how it is made and give you a few tips on selecting wine in a shop or restaurant.

    Each guest also receives winemaker notes on each of the wines sampled and their own Lyme Bay Winery tote bag.

    After the tasting, you can have a browse of the Cellar Door shop and enjoy a 10% guest discount on any Lyme Bay goodies that you buy on the day!

    During the winter months tastings are held on Thursdays at 11am and 2pm, with Friday and Saturday tastings starting again on 15th March 2025.  We also offer GUIDED TASTING GIFT VOUCHERS if you’d like to treat that special person!

    Lyme Bay Winery Cellar Door

    There are plenty of reasons to visit our Cellar Door in Shute, nestled in the rolling green hills of East Devon’s Axe Valley. Taste of the West awarded us a coveted Gold medal in 2022 for the Cellar Door on account of “the friendly, knowledgeable and passionate staff who guide guests through the range of drinks – with samples galore!” which we then followed up in 2023 with a Gold medal from Food Drink Devon!  And we’re pleased to announce that we’ve just won another Gold from Taste of the West for 2024 and The Traveller’s Choice Award from Trip Advisor!

    Steve and and the team fling open the Cellar Door every Monday to Friday 9:00am-4.30pm (closed for staff lunch 12.30-1:15) where visitors can sample many of our products and ask our knowledgeable staff any questions you like. Just five miles from the coast, the Lyme Bay Winery Cellar Door is a stone’s throw away from the quaint town of Axminster, and numerous East Devon delights.
